AccuStandard

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are man-made organic chemicals consisting of carbon, hydrogen and chlorine atoms. PCBs were manufactured worldwide for industrial applications including use in coolants and insulating fluids for transformers and capacitors. Other applications included carbonless copy paper, paints, hydraulic fluids, plasticizers, plastic additives and flame retardants.

In 1993, AccuStandard was the first manufacturer to have synthesized all 209 PCB congeners. We offer a wide variety of reference standards for PCBs and related compounds to support the research and analysis of these environmental pollutants.

Aroclors

Aroclors are a technical mixtures of PCBs that were manufactured by Monsanto from the 1930’s through the 1970s. Testing for Aroclors is extremely important as they exhibit similar toxic properties as the pure PCBs. This is especially the case for Aroclor 1254 due to the high concentration of chlorine.

PCB Metabolites

A metabolite is a degradant or another form of the parent compound when the parent compound is exposed to different environmental conditions. Commercial sources for metabolites are not readily available for reference material applications. We offer a comprehensive selection of PCB metabolites to support toxicity studies and the evaluation of the environmental impacts for these pollutants.
